In this second webinar of the Go Nuclear Series, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Denise Stephenson and Theresa Olaniran about their career paths and ask them questions in an open group mentoring format.

About Denise

Denise is an engaging and motivational speaker with a passion for bringing about change through discussion and action. She mainly focuses on issues of race, diversity and inclusion and social mobility. She has recently been helping companies deal with strategies for staff diversification, working hand in hand with her charity ROK (Reach Out 2 Kids). She is also a keen runner of over 20 years and through the founding of her running group, with her sister and friend in 2019, has encouraged and coached people in their personal running journeys. The group has been a lifesaver for people mentally, as well as physically during this difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Experience: Denise is a lawyer with over 20 years legal experience and 15 years of public speaking and training clients and staff. She has latterly moved into the area of public speaking, where through telling her own story, she has helped to motivate hundreds of people. Recent talks and articles have been undertaken and written for: D&I in Nuclear in UK; tech company Episerver (now called Optimizely); Innocent Drinks UK and the College of Haringey and North East London, Manchester School of Arts and the NHS NW Collaborative.

About Theresa

Theresa is an accomplished Operations & Compliance consultant who has worked for over 15 years in both the private and not for profit sectors delivering transformational change and providing organisations with clear guidance on regulatory matters. She has built an extensive career based on her ability to pivot and shape her skills and knowledge to suit her clients, resulting in a variety of roles from Director of Operations, Compliance & Operations Consultant to Project Manager/Facilitator. She is currently working for The World Reimagined, Rekindle School, The Roots Programme, Koreo & The Virgin Money

Go Nuclear! is our first webinar series, focusing specifically on connecting Black talent with career opportunities in the nuclear sector.

The Go Nuclear webinar series is open to Candidates who are Black African, Black Caribbean and/or Black British candidates, including those of mixed Black heritage that are:

✨ Studying at/or recently graduated from (2019 onwards) a UK university at undergraduate or postgraduate level or;

✨ Aged 18 and over who have completed their A levels and exploring career opportunities

✨ Aged 16 and over who have completed their GCSEs and are exploring career opportunities
